Where's That From - Hello February 2025
Kicking off the New Year with links to some good things
Dear readers & friends,
It’s 11am on a Friday, the rain is currently taking a brief pause, and my 4 year old is sitting on the other side of my desk with her headphones on singing The Lion King’s Circle of Life at the top of her lungs. It’s kinda great. After a crazy start to the year, I’m happy to finally find a moment to pick things back up on this newsletter. Maybe this will be the year I finally start organizing my substacks around themes better.. but for now I’m going to ease back into it and stick with sharing what’s top of mind (and my closet) with links to things I think you’ll genuinely like.
A really great $47 Sweater (My brown sold out, linked the Grey and comes in an Ecru)
I have a grey V-neck sweater in this exact cut from 4 years ago that I still wear every year. I think because it’s from Zara I don’t feel as precious about it so I just wear it to death? But I really like how it’s cut, and come back to it year after year. I got the brown one below this fall to have a backup in case the day comes where I have to retire the other one. The brown is now sold out, but comes in the grey and an ecru that look really good. I’m wearing a Large.
Had been on the search for a great pair of wide leg jeans that puddle perfectly at the bottom without making me trip (I’m 5’5”). Poorly lit video, but gives a good sense for how the pants hang and move. I was told to size down in these as they’ll mould on the waist and hips, and would definitely agree with that assessment. Also purchased the cropped button down shirt and I like to pair the two together.
This Parka / Rainjacket ($150)
This jacket popped into my mailbox right before the rain showed up in LA last week and I immediately hopped on it. Oversized in just the right ways with the adjustable cords on the bottom and at the neck to change the fit. I took a size Small.
And if you need more inspo — rainjackets/windbreakers all over the runway for 2025 ..
Other links worth sharing:
The Posse x Moda Operandi collab is really cute and worth checking out. I got the striped long sleeve (size S) that reminds me of the old school Petit Bateau adult tops — thick but soft cotton and the boat-neckline silhouette.
$68 Garden clogs that I’ve coopted into being my rain shoes this spring.
Beauty & Health type things:
This skincare duo (I use both of them together as a system). I linked last summer, and after using for almost 9 months straight I think this is kind of the best thing out there if you’re looking for an alternative before exploring the world of injectables.
This haircare system smells divine and the serum works wonders on frizz. Full transparency, this was gifted to me and I’ve gone back to purchase for myself AND my daughter (who actually has legit texture and frizz that needs some taming).
Started using this mouth tape around Thanksgiving and I swear by it in terms of helping me sleep and preventing me from clenching/grinding my teeth at night.
As Maria Hyde from Essential Reads stated: a turtleneck is the winter version of a white tee. This black turtleneck has fit the bill for me this season, and I’ve been wearing solo and layering under sweaters.
Until next time :)
Justine
