It’s been a minute! I haven’t been a big “shopping mood” for clothes lately, idk in part due to fashion fatigue (?) and also just the reality that my needs have evolved over the years as a working mom with little time (and little energy). I’ve realized I have a go-to outfit formula and it’s fairly straightforward: comfy oversized sweater, a great tee to layer on, and favorite easy denim or pants. I love to find those pieces that have the best fit, are top quality, and just wear them to death. Truth be told, I’ve been more into accessories this fall — bags, jewelry, shoes, outerwear, etc. as a way to keep outfits feeling fresh and updated. I’ve linked many of those accessories below, in addition to my ride-or-die clothing staples that have made this shopping hiatus very easy.

*Also, file Parker Thatch under brands-to-check-out. Everything is limited run, hand cut, high-quality leather, and made here in LA. The brand is also owned and run by an amazing AAPI woman, Irene Chen. From a pure biz/marketing standpoint, I’m incredibly fascinated by how Irene has cracked the code on live-shopping when the industry in general is still struggling to figure this out — even though it’s a huge area of opportunity (just look at how big live shopping is in China).

My New Favorite Kids Clothing Boutique
Switching gears. While I haven’t been into buying clothes for myself lately, I have been very into buying clothes for my daughter. My older son is in a uniform-only school now, so I’m fully embracing these last couple years of getting to pick out fun, cute outfits for the little one. I tend to oscillate between dressing P in really girly clothes (Doen, Little Cotton Clothes, etc.) and dressing her in funky, print-fun clothes. For the latter, I’m super into this LA based kids boutique, Milk Teeth. Design, quality, fit, and price-per-wear are all there — which is my check list for kids clothing. While I still love Zara Kids for funky cute pieces too, the quality and fit aren’t there 60% of the time and I find that the price-per-wear math just doesn’t work out sometimes.
Code JUSTINE15 will give you 15% off at check out.
Here’s a few of the cute things I’ve purchased from Milk Teeth recently.
If you’ve made it this far, I just wanted to say thank you again for subscribing - it means a lot to me (really!). I’ll try to be more consistent about getting these out.
Have a great weekend,
Justine
